SAVE OUR SUPPLEMENTS UPDATE

An EU directive means that on August 1 many popular specialist vitamins and mineral supplements will be compulsorily removed from health food shops. Attempts are being made to amend the legislation, and to overturn it in the European Court of Justice (ECJ). 1.5m Save our Supplements postcards were sent to Members of Parliament. From October legislation will also affect some herbal remedies. For further information and supplements affected see http://www.healthchoice.org.uk. In April the Advocate General of the ECJ said the EU directive was invalid. This judgement is not a ruling, that will come from the ECJ Judges, probably around June, but typically the court judgement follows his recommendation.

DR PEATFlELD IN THE YORK AREA

Dr Peatfield, a private nutritionist who treats ME/CFS with adrenal and thyroid support, is hoping to hold a clinic in the York area. LEEDS GROUP MEMBERSHIP SURVEY 

2004 PUBLISHED

The survey gives a profile of respondents and shows that the majority of people benefited from most of the care from the NHS Leeds Chronic Fatigue Clinic - especially the illness management groups which 79% found helpful. It also showed that complementary therapies were beneficial, and what services members would like for the future.
