Welcome To the newsletter and a happy and healthier new year

We need a new Newsletter Editor.

Our newsletter editor, Brian has decided not to stand again for the position at our next AGM, this spring. If you think you might like to take on the position please let us know.

If we do not manage to recruit a new editor, then unfortunately this will be the final newsletter you will receive. In this eventuality we will endeavour to disseminate information via our web site and e-mail. For people who are on line then we will try to send out an annual resource list. Please let Sandra know your e-mail address if you would like to receive up-dates on group meetings.

ME Group Meetings

are all on the first Wednesday of the month at
The Holmefield Centre, Peel Close, Heslington.

Wednesday 6 February 2 - 3.30 pm Social Meeting
Wednesday 5 March 2 - 3.30 pm Speaker to be arranged

Check website for further meeting details or phone 01347 810841

CAN WE SEND YOUR NEWSLETTER BY E–MAIL?
If so, please let me have your e-mail address
Sending the Newsletter in this way will cost us nothing, helping the group enormously.

Our chair-person Sandra Tomlinson has contributed the following article in response to Stacey Lords piece in the last newsletter:-

I have decided to take up a few points Stacey Lord made in her article in the last News Letter. (Our thanks to Stacey for all her hard work)

Point A.
Stacey said: “ME/CFS is not caused by stress”
To understand what happens in chronic illness you must understand what ‘stress’ is. It is NOT an entity in itself, it is a non specific response to anything physical, psychological or emotional or a mixture of these which disrupts the body systems and processes (homeostasis).
